Is snoring in children normal?
Loud, regular snoring in a child is not normal. Enlarged tonsils and adenoids are a common cause and should be checked.
When is a tonsil operation needed?
When enlarged tonsils or adenoids block breathing during sleep, or when throat infections keep coming back. The decision is made after examination.
How long does recovery from a tonsil operation take?
Most children return to a normal diet within about two weeks. The team gives clear diet and pain-relief advice before discharge.
When should hoarseness be checked?
If hoarseness lasts more than three weeks, have the voice box examined with a scope in the OPD.
What does a tonsil operation cost?
